The original Bluegrass Brewing Company opened at this location, 3929 Shelbyville Road, in 1993. It is the city's oldest remaining brewpub and was the first to make a significant mark on the national brewpub and microbrewery scene.
Louisville's best beer is made at this location under the supervision of Head Brewer Jeremy Hunt. You may watch the brewing operation as you enjoy your meal through large windows in the dining room or dine alfresco in the Beer Garden. Or if sitting at the bar is more your style pull up a chair to our spacious and inviting bar where no one is a stranger.

Our second location opened in December 2006 and is a popular lunch and dinner spot with the downtown crowd. Conveniently located to hotels and entertainment venues, BBC Downtown has become a favorite of travelers and theater-goers. 4th St. BBC has one of the finest patios in town for outside dining. Enjoy a pint while you sit at the bar outside with our unique garage doors that open up to the inside or enjoy the garden-like setting of our outside plaza dining area.

The best place to park is the 5th St. Garage, at 630 S. 5th St., between Broadway and Chestnut. The entrance is on 5th Street which is a one-way street going North. The garage charges an hourly rate of $1.50 except when there is an event at the Palace Theatre - then it is a flat $4 fee.
The garage ticket booth closes at 9 pm during the week and is unattended on weekends, except for special events. The gates are open when the garage is unattended, so you may park for free.
If you leave after 9 pm you likely won't have to pay to park although occasionally they put an envelope on your car saying you need to leave money for parking.
OTHER PARKING:
• On-street metered parking on Broadway: free after 6 pm.
• City-owned parking garage behind the Brown Hotel on 3rd St.

The newest addition to the BBC family opened September 2010 in the Historic 300 building.The bottom floor, aka "The Cellar" is set with high-top tables, booths and a large full-service bar. The second floor is set with all lower tables and booths and another full service bar. The third floor of BBC is the Four Roses Bourbon Barrel Loft, a lounge-type atmosphere with large sectional couches, a bar built from Four Roses Bourbon barrels, high-top bar tables, and a separate conference room for business meetings. All floors are handicap accessible with elevators.

Our 3rd and Main BBC is located directly across from the KFC YUM! Center Arena and the Kentucky International Convention Centerand next door to Actors Theater . Make sure you stop in and visit Louisville's oldest Award-winning brewery while you're in Louisville … or join us for a brew before your show. Unfortunately, we do not accept reservations on nights when events are scheduled at the arena.
